Product Description

The Magewell Ultra Encode AIO is an all-interface standalone hardware encoder equipped with both HDMI and SDI inputs, each with a loop-through output. It accepts HDMI signals up to 4K 60fps or 6G-SDI signals up to 4K 30fps, compresses them using H.264 or H.265 (HEVC) encoding, and simultaneously pushes to up to 6 streaming destinations while recording to an SD card, USB storage device or NAS. The front panel features a 1.9-inch LCD touch screen (320x172) for real-time preview, audio metering and stream status, with one-touch start/stop of recording and live streaming. Network connectivity supports wired Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 4G/5G USB modem, and the full configuration and management can be completed via Web UI on a PC or smartphone. At 214.9mm x 128.2mm x 44.55mm with a rack-mount kit included, it is suited for live events, lecture capture, remote production and corporate video broadcast.

Does the Ultra Encode AIO support both HDMI and SDI input simultaneously, and can both be used at the same time?

The Ultra Encode AIO provides one HDMI input and one SDI input, each with its own loop-through output. Encoding uses a single active input source at a time — simultaneous mixed encoding from both inputs is not supported. However, both loop-through outputs allow the signals to pass downstream to other equipment.

How many streaming destinations can be targeted simultaneously?

Up to 6 destinations simultaneously. RIST Listener, RTSP, SRT Listener, HLS and TVU ISSP together count as 1 session; NDI HX2 supports up to 2 sessions. If NDI HX3 is selected, it operates as 1 exclusive session and cannot be combined with other streams.

What is the maximum resolution and frame rate supported by the HDMI input?

The HDMI input supports up to 4096x2160 / 3840x2160p at 60fps with color depth up to 12-bit and color sampling of RGB 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:4:4 or YCbCr 4:2:2, with custom EDID support. The SDI input (6G, ST 2081) supports up to 4K 30fps.

Can the device record locally, or does it only stream?

It can record. The Ultra Encode AIO supports simultaneous streaming and recording, saving files to an SD card, USB storage device or NAS (NFS / CIFS) in MP4, MOV or TS format. Features include recording scheduler, loop recording and automatic upload to remote file storage platforms.

How can the device be controlled to start and stop streaming or recording without a computer on site?

The front panel features a 1.9-inch LCD touch screen that allows direct tap-to-start / stop of recording and live streaming, with real-time display of preview, audio meter and stream status. If a network connection is available, the Web UI can also be accessed from a smartphone browser for remote control.
